What are the benefits of a 1 day cleanse, 3day cleanse, 5 day cleanse, and etc.?

A one-day cleanse is used by many as maintenance for the body or a chance to take a weekly break from the process of digestion. One-day cleanses are also an excellent chance to see is a juice cleanse is right for you.

Three to five-day cleanses can be used to reboot the body or as a building block to longer cleanses.

Ten days or more is where real healing work begins.

What is a
Juice Cleanse

A juice cleanse is a safe way to revitalize and reboot your system from poor dietary choices such as heavy meals and over processed foods.the concentrated nutrients that you receive from a juice cleanse will stimulate you system
to let natural healing occur.

When should i do
a cleanse?

Cleanses are best through of as a gift for your body.Consider doing a cleanse seasonally to have your body flow with the rhythm of the changing seasons.If you are feeling bloated,sluggish and foggy then give yourself a couple of
days to prepare and take a break from solid food.Be kind to yourself and do not plan a cleanse during a challenging time when big events are coming up.Such as weddings,final exams or the holidays.

Before the Cleanse

Preparation is key since your organs will not be digesting foods for a few days. It is important to wean yourself off of caffeine, white foods (pasta, rice, & sugars), dairy, and meat three days prior to cleanse to prepare your body for detoxification. When you eliminate those foods your mind will get prepared for the cleanse as well. It is good to start each day by drinking warm water with lemon. Drink at least a gallon of water a day and enjoy some herbal teas (green tea or yerba mate) as well.

Please note: If you are seriously ill, have diabetes or are currently under a physician’s care, please consult with your doctor before beginning a juice cleanse.

During the cleanse

Salt water flush: (not provided, can be optional, but is highly recommended)

Day 1:

When you awake, drink one quart of warm pure filtered water with 2 teaspoons of sea salt ( with no iodine). Do NOT use any other type of salt! After you drink the quart, sit or walk comfortably for 5-10 minutes until you feel the urge to void. While on the toilet, drink pure filtered water until what you are expelling becomes clear.This is flushing out your system for you. Some people may have an adverse reaction to the flush.Do not leave the house until this process has been done. It won’t be pretty.If you throw up immediately, do not attempt to drink anymore of the salt water. And skip it for the rest of the cleanse.This is just a quick/cheap way to clean your colon.The juices will still get your system cleaned out.

You will have 5 juices and one almond milk to drink daily.The almond milk should be drunk at least one hour before you go to bed. Get used to not chewing food, mind over matter.Get enough sleep at night.Try to go sleep early and wake up early, as it will help take your mind off of food and accelerate the cleansing process.If the news upsets you, don’t watch or read it during the cleanse. Keep your spirits up.The body’s largest elimination organ is the skin try body brushing in the morning to rid your body of dead skin cells (I use a loofah sponge) and open your pores. Infrared saunas, massages and warm baths can also serve you well.

Drink at least a gallon of water a day and if you are doing strenuous exercise, drink some coconut water as well.

If you feel you must eat something stick to raw veggies, fruit, and salads.

Days 2 & 3:

Only use one pint of warm water and 1 teaspoon of iodized salt for the saltwater flush. Do not use any other type of salt.  Same juices and almond mylk as day 1.

Feel free to exercise, but don’t over exert yourself. It’s important to listen to your body. Some people will keep up with their CrossFit routines and spin classes but others prefer restorative yoga, meditation, and walking. Just do what feels best for your body.

Rest and relaxation are very helpful when it comes to rejuvenating the body, mind, and spirit. Take the time to rest and relax throughout each day of your cleanse.Warm herbal teas can be very comforting during a cleanse.

After the cleanse

CONGRATS! You did it and your done with your cleanse. The more you are able to keep your system functioning properly the better off you will be. Take care of yourself the first few days after a cleanse. Break your cleanse by consuming three small meals the following day. Do not eat processed foods or meat. Stick to fruits, non-starchy vegetables, homemade veggie soups, smoothies, and raw foods (salads). Keep complex animal fats, dairy, and alcohol out of your diet. Understand which foods give you energy and which ones slow you down. It is neat to see how the simplest of foods can taste so good after a cleanse.

Side effects of cleanses

We are all different, but there are some side effects to a juice cleanse that are good to know about. Preparation for the cleanse is the key to success. The first day of the fast you are still digesting food from the last week. By day two the body is hunting for its steady stream of fats and stimulants (caffeine) and detoxification is at its most drastic and noticeable. Feelings of fatigue, light flu symptoms, headaches and minor skin breakouts are all common symptoms of the body cleaning out the junk. Results of a juice fast usually include glowing skin, clear eyes, and a break from fuzzy brain. After the fast, as you are introducing a sensible, plant-based diet, you will be able to recognize foods that trigger sensitivity in your digestive system.
